County Park Visit
On 28th December , 2013 Lisa ,Alex , Mario,Daniel Mrs Li and our mother (Lisa and Alex) and Mrs Li's friends went to Shing Mun Reservoir 城門水塘 by MTR and then taxi. The first thing we saw was a map of Shing Mun Reservoir that showed the routes.
We walked up the hill and observed trees. The most common tree was Paper-bark tree from Australia, now a common plant in Hong Kong. It has multi - layered peeling, spongy bark which looks like a pile of paper; thus people usually call it "Paper - bark tree".
The trunks are nonflammable. When a hill fire occurs, they can prevent the fire from spreading.
Then we saw some monkeys at Butterfly Garden. The monkeys were so cute and so lovely but they loved eating left overs from the rubbish bins. They were about two feet tall. They were brown and have short hair. They had a long tail because the tail could help them balance when they jumped from one tree to another.
Shing Mun Reservoir was so beautiful but yesterday it was very cold, and so we could not see many animals. Since it was winter, there were not any flowers. I would like to visit the park in spring!

We found this tree with lumps on its trunk.
What are these lumps? What tree is this?
We kept asking these questions, but no way we could find the answers.
Neither could we find any related info from the books we had.
Can anyone help?
